Special Events Information

1. Event Category.

If you wish to see only those events which are in a specific category, click the radio button for the event category of interest. If you want to see information from all categories of events do not select any of the radio buttons, just click on the search button. If you need to deselect the radio button use the Clear Form button.

The first two event categories, Refuge System Anniversary and National Wildlife Refuge System Week, are specific events used to celebrate the Refuge System. The next events, Open House and Public Meeting, are events that are intended to provide the public an opportunity to find out about Fish and Wildlife Service programs. The other categories of events reflect a variety of special events that the Fish and Wildlife Service and other organizations hold to celebrate wildlife and public lands.

2. Geographic Area.

If you want to search for events in a specific geographic area, click the radio button for the geographic area of interest. If you want to see information from all geographic areas do not select any of the radio buttons. If you need to deselect the radio button use the Clear Form button.

North America is used to mean Canada, the United States and Mexico. The Atlantic generally refers only to Bermuda. The Caribbean is used to refer to the greater and lesser antilles and the Bahamas. Central America is used to refer to the southern part of North America outside of Mexico. South America is used to refer to all of South America.

3. Country.

If you want to search for events in a specific country, select the country of interest from the picklist. If you want to see information from all countries do not select any of the countries. If you need to deselect the country, choose the empty field at the top of the pick list.

The United States, Canada and Mexico are at the top of the list. All other countries follow in alphabetical order.

4. State/Province.

If you want to search for events in a specific state or province in Canada, the United States or Mexico, enter the two letter postal code for the state/province of interest. If you want to see information from all states/provinces do not select any of the radio buttons. If you need to deselect the state/province, select the information and delete.
